Being an Upwinder
We are Driven by Customers
We listen closely to understand our customers’ deepest pain points, working backwards to deliver easy-to-use, innovative solutions that not only meet immediate needs, but anticipate future ones.
We prioritize long-term relationships and value over short term outcomes, striving to exceed expectations and reinforce our customers’ trust in Upwind.
We value speed
We make decisions swiftly, recognizing many can be reversed or refined.
We believe in failing fast, and aren’t afraid to change course when necessary. With a bias for action we take calculated risks – even in the face of uncertainty – knowing that urgency drives momentum and propels us forward.
Speed doesn’t just get us there faster; it lets us adapt quickly and build on each step with what we learn.
We Improve Every Day
We believe in the power of incremental progress: every day, every meeting, and every decision is an opportunity to improve.
Committing to getting 1% better with each cycle creates compounding gains, allowing us to build products that are 10x better over time.
Improvement doesn’t stop with delivery; we follow up, adapt, and refine to ensure every outcome evolves towards excellence.
We Take Ownership
We get the job done and never assume that someone else will do it.
When things aren’t going right, we take responsibility and step in to fix it. No task is beneath us, and “it’s not my job” isn’t in our vocabulary.
As owners, we stay aligned with the bigger picture for Upwind, communicating efficiently, giving constructive feedback, and proactively escalating issues to keep everyone moving forward together.
We are Resourceful and Resilient
We create our own reality, accomplishing more with less by leaning on creative problem-solving & adaptability.
When we face constraints and the path forward isn’t clear, we find ways to make it work without sacrificing quality or our commitment to high standards.
We see setbacks as new opportunities to innovate, moving forward stronger and better prepared.
We Lead with Humility
We approach every interaction with humility, respecting and learning from others.
We hold ourselves accountable, publicly owning mistakes and using them as stepping stones for growth.
Integrity guides us to act in the best interests of the team, fostering a culture of trust, shared purpose, and mutual growth.
As a UI/UX designer, I enjoy creating user-friendly experiences that deliver innovative technology. It’s empowering to be part of a company that values inclusion and embraces unique perspectives in the cybersecurity industry.”

We are hiring our first dedicated Business Applications and Systems Lead—a foundational role critical to the success of our hyper-growth trajectory. You will be the single point of ownership for our core application ecosystem, managing and building systems that enable the revenue and operational function of the company, with Salesforce (SFDC) as the backbone.
This role requires a systems thinker with strong project management acumen who can operate across the entire technology lifecycle: from day-to-day configuration and maintenance to designing the scalable architecture that will support our hyper-growth.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the 1-3 year roadmap for our business application stack (SFDC, ERP, CPQ, etc.). Proactively identify application needs, integration gaps, and technical debt.
- Design, build, and maintain the application architecture and data models to ensure they are robust, secure, and can scale seamlessly to accommodate massive user and data growth.
- Act as the strategic partner to executive and department leaders (Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations), translating high-level business goals into concrete technical solutions and system requirements.
- Ensure all business applications and integrations meet data governance, security, and internal control requirements.
- Own the full project lifecycle for all system enhancements and new application implementations, including scoping, time budgeting, design, hands-on configuration/development, testing, and deployment.
- Serve as the expert Administrator for Salesforce (Advanced Admin skills required), managing configuration, custom objects, user provisioning, security, data integrity, and troubleshooting.
- Own the health, performance, and development of all critical integrations between SFDC and adjacent applications (e.g., Clari, AWS, Slack, Upwind Platform, etc.).
- Be the expert in Salesforce declarative automation, specifically focusing on building, maintaining, and optimizing complex Flows and other automation tools to eliminate manual steps and drive efficiency across business processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Business Systems/Applications or Solutions Consulting with Revenue, Finance, or ERP Systems demonstrating progressive responsibility and ownership, ideally within a high-growth, late-stage startup environment.
- Proven ability to thrive in a "first hire" or standalone role, demonstrating independence, quick learning, and accountability for critical infrastructure.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Salesforce (Admin certification required; Developer/Consultant certification a strong plus).
- Strong familiarity and experience integrating/managing at least one major adjacent system (e.g., ERP like NetSuite, CPQ, or Marketing Automation).
- Proven, deep experience designing, building, and maintaining integrations using a dedicated Integration Platform as a Service (IPaaS) tool (e.g., MuleSoft, Workato, Celigo, Boomi). Must be highly proficient in data mapping, transformation, and error handling.
- Demonstrable ability to understand the interconnectedness of business processes and technology, identifying impacts across the entire value chain before implementation.
- Excellent organizational and project leadership skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects on time.
