The best talent is global

We believe great teams are built around people, not locations. Upwind supports remote and hybrid work so we can collaborate with exceptional talent wherever they are.

Moments that bring us together

From offsites to everyday collaboration, we make time to connect beyond the work.
While we work across time zones, we invest in real-world connection. With offices in Tel Aviv, Belfast, and Iceland, plus team offsites throughout the year, we create space for teams to build trust, strengthen relationships, and do better work together.

About The Position

Upwind is a next-generation Cloud Security Platform that leverages runtime context to identify and prioritize critical risks, providing precise insights and efficient cloud security management. Unlike traditional tools, Upwind uses runtime data proactively for risk prioritization and posture insights, ensuring teams focus on what truly matters. With industry-leading efficiency and eBPF-powered sensors, Upwind delivers comprehensive capabilities — including agentless cloud posture discovery, real-time threat protection, and integrated API security. We're in a period of significant growth. There's an enormous amount to build, improve, and shape — and every hire changes the trajectory of the company.

What this role is

Think of this as the engineering role for our people systems. Just like a platform engineer builds the infrastructure that lets product teams move fast-  you'll build the people infrastructure that lets our managers and teams operate at their best.

Everything from scratch. No legacy processes to inherit. Full ownership over design, build, and execution.

What you'll build

  • Own and shape how performance works across the company - frameworks, evaluation processes, and the decisions that follow.
  • Define leveling and promotion standards that reflect real impact, and make sure they're applied consistently.
  • Build the systems that develop great leadership at scale - onboarding, expectations, and a shared language for what good looks like across teams and geographies.
  • Create an AI and automation layer that collects signals, surfaces insights, and gives managers real-time visibility to make fast, confident decisions.
  • Replace manual people processes with scalable, low-maintenance systems - and keep finding new ones to eliminate.

These are the core domains. What you build within them and how - is largely up to you.

You'll thrive here if

  • You've built people systems from scratch — not maintained someone else's.
  • You think in systems and processes, not tasks and projects.
  • You're technically comfortable - you can turn a people challenge into an automated workflow.
  • You've worked in a high-growth environment (200–1000 employees) and know what breaks at scale.
  • You're excited by using AI to replace manual work - not just assist it.
  • You push decisions forward, not discussions.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in a high-growth tech environment.
  • Background in People / HRBP, BizOps, or Strategy & Operations — with strong exposure to both sides.
  • Proven experience building people programs from scratch, not just running existing ones.
  • Systems thinker - you simplify complexity, you don't add to it.
  • Hands-on with AI tools and automation (n8n, Zapier, LLMs, or similar).
  • Comfortable challenging leaders and driving decisions without consensus.
  • Fluent in English - this is a global, cross-functional role.
