We are looking for a Head of Data to lead our data and BI function and drive the company’s evolution into a truly data-driven organization.
This role combines building and scaling our data capabilities with driving company-wide data transformation. You’ll lead the existing BI organization, strengthen our data platform and processes, and partner with leaders across the company to embed data into decision-making, planning, and execution.
What You'll Do
- Own Upwind’s data strategy and roadmap, and take our existing BI capabilities to the next level.
- Lead and develop the BI team, including a team of data engineers and data analysts.
- Build a scalable, reliable data platform and improve data quality and accessibility.
- Raise Upwind's data governance maturity as we grow, including PII and GDPR handling.
- Develop a strong company-wide KPI and metrics framework.
- Own the org-wide analytical view. Partner with business leaders across the organization on questions no single team can answer from its own data.
- Build a self-serve capability so teams can answer their own questions, driving data adoption across the company.
- Identify gaps and opportunities, and build solutions that make a measurable business impact.
- Help the organization move from reporting on data to using data to make better decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data/BI leadership roles, with a proven track record of leading teams and driving data initiatives across an organization.
- Experience scaling a data/BI organization, preferably in a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
- Experience working in a relatively large and complex organization with multiple business functions.
- Strong understanding of modern data and BI architectures and tools.
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect data capabilities to business outcomes.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and driving change across an organization.
- A builder mentality - someone who identifies problems, creates structure, and drives solutions from idea to execution.
- Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
