Less than 9 months since we announced our $250M Series B, we are thrilled to announce our $400M Series C funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from each and every Upwind’s investor: Greylock Partners, Cyberstarts, Craft, Salesforce Ventures, Alta Park, Picture Capital, Swish Ventures, Cerca Partners, TCV, Penny Jar, and Leaders Fund and we’re excited to welcome Canapi ventures. This additional capital will fuel our product and engineering growth in building the platform that will secure cloud & AI infrastructure for the world in the AI era.

There’s no shortcut, just hard work. There were a lot of sleepless nights, disciplined product & engineering meetings, flights, travel, conferences, deep work with customers, and learning from every deal that got us here.
We’re competing with the largest and most successful companies on earth. That’s why I owe this Series C to our customers and partners for believing in us. We don’t take it for granted. This investment brings our total funding to over $800M, which we’re deploying to help defenders to protect from the exponential risk that comes with all of AI’s benefits.
The funding round makes Upwind one of the most capitalized companies in the world that’s focused on solving the cloud and AI security problem. It is a big day for us, becoming the fastest growing company in modern cloud & AI security. But, it is still a small milestone in our journey.
Being everywhere for AI
Security is a Cloud & AI story now.
AI has a long reach within the enterprise environment, so we’re building AI Sensors for endpoints, Agents and Skills scanners and are reinventing our inventory graph. It’s not about Code to Cloud anymore, it’s about Endpoint to Code to Cloud.
We also need to use AI to respond to AI. Our Blue, Red, and Green agents are already changing customers’ operational reality.
- Blue Agent – Investigates across all log sources and data points to build a single attack story. Any exploitation attempt is caught and handled at runtime.
- Red Agent – Verifies your exposure and attack surface. It safely tests whether exposure and vulnerabilities are exploitable in your environment, so your team fixes what’s real and ignores the noise.
- Green Agent – Finds the pressure points in your environment that can fix and remediate thousands of security findings and resources. This is the only way to protect from the scale of AI attacks.
We’ve also launched our AI Labs for Cybersecurity, built around the simple idea to give exceptional people the environment, infrastructure, and freedom to work on security problems that are not only important today, but will define what the industry needs into the future. The Lab focuses on four major areas that form an important part of Upwind’s broader AI strategy: AI Security; Agentic Security; Frontier Models, Systems, and Benchmarks; and Advanced AI Systems.
