Organizational Onboarding is a new method of deployment for Upwind’s Agentless Cloud Scanners that enables faster, more efficient onboarding and cloud coverage. It is now available for all major cloud providers – including support for AWS, Google and Azure.
What is Organizational Onboarding?
The Upwind Platform was designed for rapid deployment and immediate value. It is a hybrid solution that utilizes Agentless Cloud Scanners alongside Upwind’s industry-leading eBPF sensor that unlocks next-generation realtime/runtime capabilities.
Our new onboarding method for deploying Agentless Cloud Scanners reduces the manual effort typically required to get started, automating setup and quickly bringing all relevant cloud assets under Upwind’s coverage. The result is immediate and extensive coverage, providing users with a unified and comprehensive view of their security and compliance posture from day one. This accelerates time-to-value, allowing you to realize the benefits of the Upwind Platform without protracted deployment cycles.
How to Use Organizational Onboarding
Connecting your major cloud accounts or projects to Upwind is now simpler than ever. Our new Organizational Onboarding process includes:
Account and project Discovery: Initiate discovery of all organization-wide accounts and projects through a dedicated IAM role for AWS, or service account for Google Cloud.
Orchestrator account selection: Choose an orchestrator account. An orchestrator account is a central account that will have elevated permissions to manage the deployment and operations of Cloud Scanners.
Granting read-only IAM role access across all member accounts: This ensures continuous monitoring, visibility, and protection across the organization.
Protection scope definition: Customize Upwind’s scanning to align with your specific requirements, providing comprehensive visibility and coverage across your environment. For full protection, we strongly recommend scanning all accounts, but if you prefer, you can limit scanning to specific accounts for more targeted control.
